APATHY AND COLDNESS

Posted by Sisyphus on 8/2/2009

I have patronized this restaurant several times and although the food has been good most of the time, the staff was not. The redheaded hostess can be very abrupt and very rude at times as if it is too much of an effort to be considerate and genial. The staff is not very sypathetic to any problems with the food or service and don' seem to care all that much. It makes it trying, at times, just to get anything corrected. It makes for a very frustrating experience and less than a pleasant meal out. In poor economic times, we tend to eat out less and want the times we do spend the money to treat ourselves to be worthwhile. I can not say that this is always the case at this restaurant.

horrible

i used to work here and the owners are complete jerks and could care less about anyone else but themselves. The wait stuff is very friendly depending on their mood that day. the food is was too over priced for a deli

Mixed Results!

Posted by DenverDave on 5/20/2009

Buyer beware! The few times my wife and I have visited New York Deli News the food has been good. The service is a little mixed, we have had a great server and a couple bad servers. However, our last trip was a disappointment. We had decided to go for a mid-week dinner since we received a coupon in the mail for buy one get one free, but when it came time to pay the coupon was not honored. This is partly our fault so read the coupon very, very carefully. We went during the requested times, ordered the necessary drinks, but when it came time to pay it had to be in CASH, which was detailed on a separate part of the coupon. So our mid-week dinner that was going to be a unusual treat for us turned into a $35-40 dinner at a deli. We feel the coupon was misleading and the cashier didn't care at all. We asked if they had an ATM and she said somewhere across the street had one. It was a kind of gotcha, scenario!!! As small business owners my wife and I just were not impressed. I guess they were right when they say "Now Entering NY" at the entrance...they just don't care!

Best Sandwich in town

Posted by BLKHWKDOC on 3/3/2009

I went with a group of four military member for a good lunch. I ordered the half sandwich corned beef and pastromie on rye. Best Sandwich I have eat in forever. HUGE! I would have to say at least one pound of meet. Even the coleslaw was great and I hate coleslaw. Our comined bill was $47 and when we went to paid they gave us a military discount bring the total down to less then $26. I great suprise to follow a great meal. Perfect Kosher dills waiting for you when you get to your table and incredibly large portions of food. Staff was super friendly and place was amazingly clean. I will definatly be back and bring many more friends with me. I cant wait to go get my drink on and eat a late night meal there! You want a good meal or the best sandwich of you life go to the New York Deli News you wont be sorry.

Salty and Dry

Posted by BobChris on 2/24/2009

My friend and I have been wanting to try this place and unfortunatly will not be back. The meat on both sandwhiches was very dry and salty. The coleslaw had no flavor and the fries were average. Every sandwhich is around $10.00 and looking back should of went to Subway for 2 subs and would of been better satisfied. Only NY thing about this place is the price and service.
